About Lake Keowee

Lake Keowee, meaning “Place of Mulberries” is a gorgeous mountain lake in Upstate South Carolina. Duke Power controls the lake and has a large power facility mid-lake dividing the lake into two distinct regions. The south lake has a flatter terrain with gorgeous mountain views for some north-facing properties. The south lake also offers easy access to the towns of Seneca and Clemson. The north lake is characterized by newer, large resort type developments that offer gated amenities including world class golf. The Cliffs and The Reserve have done an amazing job creating developments that offer it all: mountains, lake, golf, tennis and wellness centers. The entry point for interior homes in these developments will be around $500,000 with most lakefront properties starting around $1.5mm. Lakefront properties outside these developments can be significantly less. Lake Keowee owners have easy access to Greenville and Asheville, and Atlanta is close enough for a day trip.
