I have seen a lot of renewed interest in flat water kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. Many owners are still carrying their kayaks back and forth to the their home. Others have devised sophisticated pulley systems to crank their kayaks up into the eaves of their dock. This smart design stores your kayak close to the water for ease of boarding and storage. As always, check with the Corps of Engineers to ensure your dock permit allows the rack, but I can tell you that the area between your dock and the shoreline is considered "free space" to use as you would like.
